Medial Collateral Ligament Reconstruction

Posterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

Multiligament Knee Reconstruction

Ligaments, the tough, non-stretchable fibersfibres that hold your bones together, may be injured due to a sprain or rupture caused by repetitive stress, overuse or a direct injury. Once conservative treatments have failed to relieve pain and disability, surgery may be an option. Ligament reconstruction is designed to rebuild a torn ligament using a graft or artificial prosthesis to improve joint function and stability, prevent dislocations, and may be indicated for shoulder, elbow and knee injuries. More specifically, this surgical procedure involves the repair of torn or stretched ligaments, thus properly securing the joint in place. Ligament reconstruction surgery can be performed arthroscopically through small incisions using tiny instruments, or through an open surgical procedure which involves a larger incision over the affected area to perform the repair.
