Wrist Arthroscopy
Arthroscopic hand surgery is a minimally invasive method of diagnosing and treating wrist and hand issues by inserting a miniaturized surgical camera into the joint space. This allows surgeons to clearly see the affected area and treat the condition using very small instruments inserted through one or more small incisions. Arthroscopic hand surgery is considered more accurate than magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), a commonly used nonsurgical assessment method. An outpatient procedure, arthroscopic hand surgery can be used to specifically treat tears in the ligaments or the triangular fibrocartilage complex, remove inflamed tissue that is causing pain and joint damage, remove ganglion cysts and treatment of instability, and/or treat fractures of the distal radius or scaphoid bone.
